So a lot happened last week. It definitely weighed

So a lot happened last week. It definitely weighed on me, especially since this was my first time going to protests.
I just could not sit at home, feeling helpless like I did when Zimmerman wasn’t found guilty.

I couldn’t sit at home and turn a blind eye to the injustice anymore like I usually do.
So I went out there and the energy was raw and heavy. It was weighing on my mental though so I had to take a step back which I felt bad about at first but my mental health & well being has to come first, in my case at least.

A few days ago I was finally able to get my emotions and my thoughts together & I put together this collage and blog post where I go more in depth about my experience at the protests, how I felt before, after and now.
It’s linked in my bio, I’m stronglyyyy encouraging yall to go read it because there is only so much I can really say in an IG caption.

I know this pandemic has put a lot into perspective when it comes to vanity ⠀

A lot of times we get so wrapped up in keeping up with our exterior (hair, nails, skincare, pampering etc) & how others are viewing us, that we forget about what’s going on inside of us 💡 I’m definitely guilty of this lol⠀
